There are so many custom ROMs available that let you enjoy the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on multiple Android devices. For a darker interface, ROMs such as Dark PanaroidAndroid and BAKED Black Bean ROM are available. Today you’ll learn how to install BAKED Black Bean ROM on Galaxy Nexus GT-I9250.
This ROM brings a lot of features to the device that include a lockscreen calendar, lockscreen shortcuts, AOKP toggles and much more. To keep the dark experience consistent, the ROM also inverts Google apps to be black.
Before learning how to install the BAKED Black Bean ROM, there are a few things you should know. The instructions should be applied on Galaxy Nexus model number GT-i9250, and it’s not a wise thing to apply them on any other model or Android device. The battery level should be above 80% and security software should be turned off. All important data should be backed up as well. Furthermore, your Samsung Galaxy Nexus should have ClockworkMod Recovery installed. Guide To Install BAKED Black Bean ROM On Galaxy Nexus
Step 1: Download the BAKED Black Bean ROM (link) and BAKED Gapps (link).
Step 2: Copy both the files that you downloaded in step 1 to the internal SD card of the phone.
Step 3: Switch off the device and boot into ClockworkMod Recovery. This can be done by pressing and holding the Power, Volume Up and Volume Down buttons at the same time until the screen turns bright. In recovery you can use the Volume Up key to navigate and the Power Up button to select an option while in the recovery menu.
Step 4: It’s wise to make a Nandroid backup of the existing ROM. This can be done by selecting ‘Backup and Restore’ > ‘Backup’.
Step 6: Select ‘wipe data/factory reset’ option and confirm the action on the next screen that appears.
Step 7: Select ‘Install zip from SD card’ > ‘Choose zip from SD card’. Locate the Black Bean ROM file that you copied to the SD card in step 2 and select it to begin the installation.
Step 8: Again, select ‘Install zip from SD card’ > ‘Choose zip from SD card’. Locate the Gapps file copied to the SD card in step 2 and select it to begin the installation.
Step 9: When both the Gapps package and the BAKED Black Bean ROM have been installed, go back to the main menu and choose ‘Reboot system now’.
