Earlier we told you about one of the easiest methods to get Siri on your unsupported iOS device, which involved a new line of Cydia tweaks dubbed AssistantConnect and AssistantConnect4S. When installed on both an older generation iOS device and an iPhone 4S you can easily get Siri up and running within minutes.
AssistantConnect takes away the need for a Siri proxy server that, often times, prove to be hit-or-miss. What this does mean of course however, is that you will need an iPhone 4S on hand. As the way AssistantConnect works is by giving your unsupported iOS device the authentication data needed to connect for a period of 24 hours.
If you are interested in learning how to use AssistantConnect to give the gift of Siri to your older iOS device(s) then you will be glad to know in this how to guide from iJailbreak.com this will be exactly what we will be showing you.
How To Use AssistantConnect Cydia Tweak
Step 1) – The very first thing you will need to do is install the Spire Cydia tweak on your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad. This can be done by launching Cydia, going into the search tab and searching for Spire.
Step 2) – Now you will need to enable Siri by going into the Settings.app, tapping on the General Tab, then the Siri tab and finally sliding the Siri button to the ON position.
Step 3) – Next you will need to go back into Cydia and install the AssistantConnect Cydia tweak to your older generation iOS device. When the AssistantConnect Cydia tweak is installed you will need to launch the application from your SpringBoard (homescreen) and then reboot your device.
Step 4) – This same process will need to be repeated on your iPhone 4S now, except you will be installing the AssistantConnect4S Cydia tweak (don’t forget to launch the AssistantConnect4S app and then reboot).
Step 5) – Grab your iPhone 4S once it is has finished rebooting, open the AssistantConnect4S app and then invoke Siri with a command of your choice. It is important that you wait for Siri to respond to whatever command you give “her” otherwise AssistantConnect4S will not be able to properly log the authentication data. When Siri does respond to your command you are now safe to close Siri and click the Email Siri Data button. Upon clicking this button you will simply be sending the authentication data to yourself, so that you can access it on your older generation iOS device.
Note: When you click the Email Siri Data button make sure the attachment has a file size greater than 0kb. If the file size does say 0kb then this means AssistantConnect4S did not properly log your authentication data.
Step 6) – You will now need to grab your older generation iOS device, open your email client, and then tap the authentication data attachment. Upon tapping the attachment you should be prompt to open the file with AssistantConnect and upon doing so AssistantConnect will launch with a message saying it was successful in loading the authentication data.
Step 7) – Lastly you will need to reboot your older generation iOS device one last time and you will be able to use Siri just like you would on an iPhone 4S.
Note: The authentication data will expire after 24h and you will need to send the authentication data from your iPhone 4S every 24 hours.
Congratulations! You have just gotten Siri on your older generation iOS device. For more how to guides like the one you just followed please visit iJailbreak’s How To Section. Additionally, please leave any further questions or thoughts in the comments section.

try to reboot or clear out the proxy-field in Spire
ThaBrad says
don’t make this nasty question marks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
…because Apple implemented it that way and a 4s can download the tokens, other devices doesn’t!

Can i have Siri on my iPhone 4 while i don’t have an iPhone 4s ?
ThaBrad says
na……. doesn’t work for me either!
ANYBODY who got this to actually RUN?!?!?!?
ThaBrad says
NO! …. or better not really (not the original)
there’s a google-speechrecognition package out there, where you can set-up a siriserver, but its speech recognition capabilities are way beyond the original and you have to be aware of Linux and Terminal!
Dan 1996 says
Yes, but rubbish cos you only get a 24 hr before re-authenticating so after it runs out, i’ll be not using it :(

They should figure out a way to automatically send the autherization keys in a couple of weeks so dont worry guys in then end jailbreaking always wins.

I saw a few comment of people restoring their device to the original state and restarting over . It seems like the only for some people to get it working but i dont want to restore :/ Would be nice if someone could find what can interfere with it . If someone got a clue on what might help me dont be shy to email me :) Seb85@live.ca

I installed Spire on my Touch 4G and it slowed it down by a factor of 5. Did a hard-reboot. Uninstalled Spire and the Touch is back up to speed. Wondering if the older hardware doesn’t have what it takes to run Spire.
Jeff says
Spire drained massive memory on my iPhone 4. Had to uninstall it.

@yahoo-XGIVLXNYORREJG3F6JLW6I3CJQ:disqus I suggest you try to uninstal this SiriConnect in Cydia and Respring, also if you are having other siri like apps like spire, install those, and then see if this changes anything. And then deside if you want to risk it al again, almost for nothing worth waiting for anyway sinds the keys expire within 24 hours
Joe Seals says
unintalled it and i can now get in my email
RobS says
I looked into this further and it appears that the 256MB iPod Touch memory is the limitation. Installing Spire reduces the available memory on the Touch by more than half, which causes Apps to load very slowly. Still very sweet mods though and thanks to the developers for Spire and Assistantconnect!
Joe Seals says
i already did that a few times it doesnt change anything, im over it for now thanks
Mark Woodford says
Make sure that you don’t have Sara installed, it seems to conflict with siri. I couldn’t get Siri to work until I thought of Sara. When I uninstalled it, Siri started to work.
Losh11 says
It is because of two code like passwords expire every 24hrs and most of the others expire about every 2 weeks (depends on what it is).
