CamRotate is a Cydia tweak that was released onto the BigBoss repo that subtlety modifies the default Camera app’s rotation options. I am going to be honest, for most people this tweak will not be of use to you, that is unless you are someone who uses the Camera app on a consistent basis and has ever been annoyed by certain aspects of how orientation is handled.
If this sounds like you, however, then you will want to definitely consider CamRotate. Essentially the tweak brings about 3 features that include:
- Lock Rotation: This allows you to lock the rotation of the camera in 1 of the 4 available orientations that include Portrait, Portrait Upside Down, Landscape Left and Landscape Right.
- Sync Rotation: This might be confusing until you try out the tweak, but essentially what this option allows you to do is sync the rotation with the rest of iOS. As even if orientation lock is enabled certain aspects of the camera app will still rotate, so this fixes that.
- Rotation Style: With rotation style enabled you are able to emulate the iPad-style rotation method where the buttons actually appear to rotate rather than just fade.
As I mentioned previously this tweak certainly won’t be for everyone, but if you want to give it a go you can find it in the BigBoss repo for free. Drop us a line in the comments section below if you found it useful.
