Back in January we told you about an upcoming project dubbed iOSOpenDev that would allow you to create Cydia tweaks using the official Apple SDK environment. iOSOpenDev will shorten the learning gap required for creating Cydia tweaks, and provides templates such as Activator Listeners, Notification Center Widgets and MobileSubstrate tweaks to speed development along. Yet another neat feature that iOSOpenDev provides is the ability to build debian packages for distribution in Cydia.
For those of you who were waiting for iOSOpenDev to be released you will be glad to know that it is now available to download.
Please understand that version 1.0 is the first public release of this project. Think of it as beta… better yet, alpha. Expect bugs and issues. If any are found or you’d like to submit feedback, please do so at dev@iosopendev.com. Screen shots (yes, Command-Shift-4) are worth a thousand words.
If you would like to download and use iOSOpenDev you will need to make sure you meet the requirements of running either Mac OS X 10.6 or 10.7, having Xcode 4.x installed and also MacPorts properly compiled. As long as you have the three required components for iOSOpenDev to function, you should have no troubles using it to create Cydia tweaks in Xcode.
You can download iOSOpenDev from the iJailbreak Downloads Section or from one of the direct download links below:
