If you have ever wanted to develop Cydia tweaks using the official Apple SDK environment then you are in luck. A developer by the name of Spencer James, according to ModMyi, is getting ready to release a project dubbed iOSopenDev that sets up user environment, Xcode, and iOS SDK for ‘open’ development. Essentially what iOSopenDev does is provide templates such as Activator Listeners, Notification Center Widgets and MobileSubstrate tweaks to make developing Jailbroken-style apps much easier and less time consuming. iOSopenDev additionally allows developers to build debian packages for distribution in Cydia.
You can take a look at the developer of iOSopenDev creating an SB-Settings toggle using Xcode in the YouTube video below…
iOSopenDev would be a very big help for recruiting new Jailbreak developers as it would help reduce the learning curve required for creating Cydia tweaks. For all of you looking forward to this project you will be glad to know that the developer of iOSopenDev is just finalizing his development library for a public release and should be releasing it to the public within the next week or so.
