Today was a big day for Apple, as the iPhone 5s went on sale across the world (launch countries). The Gold iPhone 5s is so much in demand that they’ve already run out of stock and are showing shipping times of October.
It has sort of become a custom, that whenever a new smartphone is launched, it has to be drop tested. And our dear friends over at Android Authority didn’t shed a tear when drop testing their brand spanking new iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c. Wouldn’t you like to find out what happened to the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5c when they were dropped to the ground from about shoulder height?
Both the iPhone 5s (in Space Grey) and iPhone 5c (White) were dropped onto hard ground from about shoulder height on their side, back and face. The iPhone 5s is made from aluminium, similar to the iPhone 5 and we’ve seen plenty of iPhone 5 drop tests to know that it is built amazingly well. The iPhone 5s, thus, survived all three tests with minor scuffs on its sides.
What we didn’t know, is how the iPhone 5c, which is made out of plastic, would fare against the tests. Well, as it turns out, the plastic is pretty strong, but the overall build isn’t as good as the iPhone 5s (duh)! Find out what happens in the video below:
Make sure you don’t drop your brand new iPhone 5c in blue on its face, because it will crack. Have you ordered your iPhone 5s or iPhone 5c yet?
