After just writing an article about iOS 6.1.1 going to be released sometime this week, Apple has pushed iOS 6.1.1 out into the wild. Surprisingly this update is just for the iPhone 4S at the moment, and it is not known whether it will be released for other devices.
This particular update fixes 3G connectivity issues, problems with Microsoft Exchange, battery issues and possibly even overheating problems. If you have a non-Jailbroken iPhone 4S you can update to iOS 6.1.1 over-the-air (OTA), but for those that are Jailbroken you will not be able to because Evasi0n blocks OTA updates. At this time it is not known whether Apple patched Evasi0n in iOS 6.1.1, so we will keep you updated.
It is worth mentioning that Apple has given the following statement regarding the previous iOS 6.1.1 beta it pushed to developers last week:
iOS 6.1.1 beta will be renamed to a different version with the next developer release and will include the fixes included in the public release of iOS 6.1.1 in addition to the improvements to Maps for Japan.
You can download iOS 6.1.1 for your iPhone 4S from the iJailbreak Downloads Section or directly by clicking here. Let us know if this firmware update fixes some of the previous troubles reported on iOS 6.1 in the comments section below.
UPDATE #1: iOS 6.1.1 build 10B145 untethered jailbreak for iPhone 4S coming soon in Evasi0n update, more information is available by clicking here.

@planetbeing
Apple released 6.1.1 for the 4S
only today. The JB still works fine. We will release an updated evasi0n
that recognizes it as supported.
