Apple has stopped signing both iOS 8.4.1 and iOS 9 firmwares. This means that you can no longer downgrade from iOS 9 to iOS 8.4.1. For those who were hoping for an iOS 8.4.1 jailbreak, but didn’t downgrade yet, are out of luck.
iOS 9 wasn’t much of a success as several users were plagued with problems and some couldn’t even complete the update. Apple then released iOS 9.0.1 and 9.0.2 to fix bugs and improve performance.
If you wanted to downgrade to iOS 8.4.1 because you didn’t like iOS 9, we’re sorry to tell you that you cannot anymore. The signing window for iOS 8.4.1 was closed late last week. Apple also stopped signing iOS 9, but that’s not the big news here.
Apparently, an Italian developer is working on an iOS 8.4.1 jailbreak, which he says will be released to the public soon. Things look promising and it looks like we might indeed have a working untethered jailbreak for iOS 8.4.1.
Therefore, if you didn’t downgrade from iOS 9 to iOS 8.4.1, you will no longer be able to enjoy a jailbreak when it’s released. A jailbreak for iOS 9 or later is possible, but we’re not sure if it will be available to the public anytime soon. Your best bet at having a jailbreak was to be on iOS 8.4.1.
If you’re on iOS 8.4.1, we suggest that you do not upgrade to iOS 9.0.1 or 9.0.2, as a jailbreak could be only days away from release.
